THE DAILY LEVEL - The daily GoHighLevel brief for agencies

Hello there. WhatsApp can now run a live countdown clock inside your offer messages, agency owners get a cleaner way to decide which features each SaaS plan unlocks, and the community did the math on what inbound Voice AI really costs. Good reading for a slower Saturday.

In today’s newsletter, we’ll get into:

  • A new WhatsApp limited time offer template shows a live countdown and a one-tap discount code, with the expiry set at send time.
  • A HighLevel tutorial walks through switching features on or off per SaaS plan from the SaaS configurator.
  • Practitioners price inbound Voice AI for a small business at around $115 to $150 a month, plus a few extras worth knowing.

NEW FEATURES

⏳ WhatsApp offers now carry a live countdown clock. HighLevel added a limited time offer template type for WhatsApp under the Marketing category. WhatsApp itself draws a clock that ticks down in the chat and turns red in the last hour, with a one-tap copy code button and a URL button underneath. You pick the expiry when you send, so one approved template covers every promotion. Double-check the date before a bulk send: a past expiry still goes out, already marked expired.

🎛️ Decide which features each SaaS plan unlocks. A new HighLevel tutorial shows how to manage feature permissions per SaaS plan. At agency level, open the SaaS configurator, edit a plan and go to Features, where everything is grouped into categories, modules and features. Enable a whole category at once or pick single features, then save. The plan view then shows at a glance which toggles are on, so tiered offers are easier to keep tidy.

📡 This week's Release Radar recap is up. HighLevel streamed its Release Radar for October 12 to 16 on Friday evening. If you missed the week's launches, the video description links to the full changelog and to the slides used in the stream, plus LevelUp 2026 ticket sales. A quick way to catch up on everything that shipped before Monday.

MONEY & FOLLOW-UP

💸 What does inbound Voice AI really cost a small business? A newcomer costing out inbound Voice AI, chat and booking texts for a US firm at about 1,500 call minutes a month asked for real bills. One reply puts it at roughly $115 to $140 a month on the $97 AI Unlimited plan before the HighLevel subscription, noting fair use applies with no published cap. Budget for A2P registration, recording and transcription, and watch wallet auto-recharge.

📞 Keeping SMS on your own Twilio account. One team runs pipelines and workflows in HighLevel but texts through a separate Twilio account with its own numbers and A2P, and wants to know if that is normal. Replies split two ways: connect your own Twilio account in location settings and skip porting, or ask support to port the numbers and accept a possible A2P resubmission for a cleaner long-term setup.

BUILD & AUTOMATE

🧱 Start with seven basic automations, not forty. A long-time builder argues most accounts are over-automated before the sales process even works. The starter list: capture every lead into the CRM, use a short pipeline, notify a human, follow up until a reply or booking, rescue no-shows, ask for reviews and track leads, bookings and customers. Keep workflows small, name them clearly and stick to one trigger each so testing stays easy.

🔌 Workflow permissions appear in the Marketplace app builder. A developer spotted a new Workflows permission group in the Marketplace app builder, with read, create and update, publish, delete and view logs options. Nothing is live yet and there are no docs, so treat it as a hint. If it ships, apps could build workflows for you, publish them as a separate step and show run logs, which matters for anyone managing many sub-accounts.

🏗️ A weekend challenge for AI Studio builders. HighLevel is inviting AI Studio builders to a weekend challenge: build an app, type "add payments", set up a storefront and reply with what you made. The team says it will share its favorites. A low-stakes excuse to try the new payments flow before you put it in front of a client.

OPEN QUESTIONS

🔔 Why did a new-lead SMS alert stop firing? A builder's flow, inbound webhook from Lovable, create contact, add tag, update opportunity, internal notification, worked for a day and then went quiet. Replies suggest checking enrollment history and execution logs first, then the notification's recipient phone number, or switching to a custom number. The likely culprit: the sub-account needs A2P approval to text US numbers.
